Alexey Miller explained the meaning of "Power of Siberia" for Yakutia

 "Gazprom" Board Chairman Alexey Miller told reporters what the gas transmission system "Power of Siberia" construction means for residents of Yakutia.

 

"The project is really ambitious for both Russia and China. As for Yakutia, the project provides reliable power supply, the new rate of gasification, gas supply in the related industries. These are huge gas processing and gas chemical complexes, not to mention new jobs, housing and social facilities", -  Miller explained. 
He added that even in the preparatory phase together with the leadership of Yakutia, headed by Egor Borisov, they executed intense work, and used to have joint meetings twice a year. "Now that we have set about the stage of the project implementation, our contacts and collaboration will be denser," - the head of "Gazprom" said.
 
He also added that Vladimir Putin held a meeting on the development of the Far Eastern Federal District just before the opening ceremony, and there he appealed to the largest companies in the country to support the local universities. "Gazprom" will also contribute to the training. And in the first place, we will turn to the local staff, and the republic potential will be in full demand", - said Alexey Miller.
 
Mr.Miller together with Russian President Vladimir Putin attended the opening ceremony of the "Power of Siberia" construction - transmission system to transport gas production to the Russian Far East and China. The length of the pipeline is 3968 kilometers. The contract between "Gazprom" and China National Petroleum Corporation was signed on May 21, 2014. The 30 years agreement will deliver 38 billion cubic meters of gas per year. The contract total price is $ 400 billion.
