Yakutsk residents to be diagnosed by doctors from South Korea, the Philippines and Russia

August 22-29 Yakutsk for the first time is to host the Charity Medical Mission of the three countries “Healthy Nations of Asia”, the Organizing Committee reported to YSIA.

“The best doctors from South Korea, the Philippines and Russia (the capital of the Republic) will diagnose socially vulnerable groups on a pro bono basis”, - said the Organizing Committee.

The Mission is organized by the district administration of Yakutsk, the Public Chamber of Yakutsk and the leading clinics of South Korea and the Philippines. We are expecting five Korean and three Filipino doctors, who, together with 26 colleagues from the city hospitals will diagnose about 600 patients, including the number of fire victims.

It all started with the visit of Professor Cho Joong Saeng from Kyung Hee University Medical Center (Seoul, South Korea), who already diagnosed patients in the "Aurora" medical clinic (now it is the Official Representative of Kyung Hee University Medical Center), and then presented a volunteer project in Yakutsk in June this year at the International Conference "Cities and people: the formula of mutual trust", held in the framework of the Year of People’s Initiative. Public representatives of the capital of the Republic were greatly interested in this initiative. And then here is the next step – the Charity Medical Mission of the three countries "Healthy Nations of Asia".

The organizers are confident that this partnership will promote health services for residents of Yakutsk and contribute to the life quality improvement.

Mr. Aisen Nikolayev, Mayor of Yakutsk, greets the participants of the Mission:

I wholeheartedly welcome the participants of volunteer charity medical mission of the three countries "Healthy Nations of Asia"!

Yakutsk is capital of the Republic and a medical center of northeastern Russia, a place where there are modern hospitals, where great attention is paid to the health of people.

Yakutsk accepts and promotes the best achievements of modern medicine. August 22-29, 2014, we, together with the Public Chamber of Yakutsk, Kyung Hee University Medical Center (Seoul, South Korea), St. Luke’s Medical Center (Philippines) hold the charity mission of doctors of the three countries "Healthy Nations of Asia". Hundreds of residents of Yakutsk will receive medical services of the best doctors from South Korea, the Philippines and the city of Yakutsk.

In the Year of People’s Initiative at the International Conference "Cities and people: the formula of mutual trust" in Yakutsk Mr. Joong Saeng Cho, Professor, MD, Director of Global Heath Care Center, Kyung Hee University Medical Center, Seoul, Korea, told about volunteer charity mission, which aroused great public interest in the city. Now the people's initiative is being implemented already in the form of charity medical mission "Healthy Nations of Asia" on the territory of our city.

I hope that all noble goals of this mission will be successfully achieved, and our cooperation with the doctors of Asian countries will continue.

Dear participants of the mission, thank you for your concern for the health, care and love for the people of our northern city, good luck in all your endeavors and more happy smiles of those you are helping!

Head of the city of Yakutsk Aisen Nikolayev.
