Outcomes of the Export Forum in Sakha (Yakutia)

 Under the Plan of supporting overseas economic activities involving Russian exporting companies, federal and regional authorities and the regional export supporting infrastructure in 2014, on 4-5 August Yakutsk hosted the annual Export Forum in the Sakha Republic (Yakutia).

The Forum saw Mr M.E.Myskin, Deputy Director, Department for Coordination, Development and Regulation of Overseas Economic Activities, Ministry for Economic Development of the RF; Ms N.A. Andreeva, Head of Department for Interaction with Economic Operators, Department for Coordination, Development and Regulation of Overseas Economic Activities, Ministry for Economic Development of the RF; Mr Ryuichi Hattori, Head of JETRO Office in Russia; Mr V.N. Zuev, Head of Department of International Economic Organizations and European Integration, National Research Institute, Higher School of Economics; Mr A.S. Polyakov, Managing Director, on Regional Development and Small and Medium Businesses, ESKAR Company; experts on external economic activity Ya.N. Polikarpova and P.S. Travinsky; representatives from state authorities and municipalities of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia), exporting companies.

The participants discussed state and non-financial measures on supporting export, activities of the Trade Missions of the RF abroad, consequences of Russia’s entering the WTO for the RF and Yakutia economy, Japan’s experience in development of exports and JETRO’s activity in this sphere, insurance of export deals for small and medium-sized businesses. There were also held strategic sessions on customs and taxation issues in the external economic activity.

The Forum included the ceremony of awarding winners of the Best Exporter of the Sakha Republic (Yakutia) Contests for 2013 and certificates to participants of the First Russian-Chinese EXPO held on 30 June – o4 July 2014.
