UNESCO Bureau Director Awarded Diploma of Sakha (Yakutia)

Director of UNESCO Bureau in Moscow, Director of UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education, Professor, PhD in Technical Sciences Dendev BADARCH was awarded Diploma of the Government of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) for the contribution to socio-economic development of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia).

The Diploma was delivered by Deputy Chairman of the Government of the Republic Feodosia GABYSHEVA on behalf of the Government of the Republic at the Permanent Establishment of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) to the President of the Russian Federation.

Yakutia is a long-standing and reliable partner of UNESCO, and various projects in the fields of science, culture and education, currently being implemented in the Republic, became a worthy continuation of long-term cooperation of Yakutia with the authoritative organization. Deputy Chairman of the Government Feodosia Gabysheva told about socially important programs and the results of their successful implementation, thanking Dendev Badarch for his direct support, long-term cooperation and personal participation in the promotion of socially significant projects that relate to cultural heritage, support of teachers and education in general. For years Dendev Badarch has personally contributed to the recognition of various republican projects by UNESCO. During the years of cooperation, he visited Yakutia more than ten times.

With the support of UNESCO the programs initiated by Yakutia have been successfully implemented and continue to be performed.  “Nomadic schools”, “Teachers of the Arctic”, "Olonkho as a masterpiece of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity" and many other social projects are recognized and approved by UNESCO. Some of them have moved into the category of innovative programs. First of all, it concerns a program for the forwardness of a child, which at this stage has been transformed into the Innovative project for the development of school education. It is clear that the recognition of ideas and initiatives of the Republic by UNESCO enhances the status of not only a particular project initiated, but of the whole Republic as well. Adopting a wealth of experience in implementation of socially significant programs, Yakutia wins not only international support, but also an opportunity to attract additional investment in science, culture and education.
