Yakut horse population increasing

 According to the weekly reports from the regional departments of agriculture, the republic’s horse population is increasing.

At the moment, the republic has 224,879 heads of horses, which makes 106.5% to the 2013 stock, including 103, 148 heads (101.9% to the 2013 level).

This year the horse breeders have had good annual yield. By now, the foaling in all types of farms has amounted to 54,432 heads (against 48,288 heads in July 2013), or 112.7% to the 2013 level.

Churapcha region is leading with 6,521 foals. Khangalas region has gained 5,043 heads, Menge-Khangalas – 4,419, Tatta – 4,368 heads. The following regions has got over three thousand foals: Amga – 3,923, Nam – 3,753, Suntar – 3,240, Us-Aldan – 3, 198, and Verkhoyansk region – 3,072 heads.

In total, 52.8% of mares have had foals (against 47.7% in 2013m reports the Press Service of the Ministry of Agriculture of Yakutia.
