Yakutia supports projects in the field of renewable energy

“New renewable energy technologies are in demand in Yakutia. This is especially of current interest for remote rural areas. Today the Republic is ready to support and assist the implementation of the proposed projects in the field of renewable energy sources. We welcome the idea of “Interbiokon” Consortium - said First Deputy Prime Minister, Permanent Representative of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) to the President of the RF Aleksey Struchkov at the founding conference of the International Bioenergetic Consortium “Interbiokon”.

 Investment program of the Consortium envisages construction of plants for deep processing of wood, peat processing , creation of bio-energy clusters in Moscow, Tver, Kaliningrad, Kirov, Bryansk, Penza and Sverdlovsk regions. “Interbiokon” intends to sign General Agreements on cooperation with leading foreign investors from China, the Republic of Korea, Italy, Germany and Israel. Team-work will involve major Russian and foreign banks and producers of bioenergy equipment. Headquarters of “Interbiokon” will be located in Moscow and European Office in Prague.

International Consortium will be formed by concerned ministries, agencies, agents and representatives of business circles of the Russian Federation, as well as large commercial structures in Italy, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands, Poland and China. At the first stage the Consortium plans to implement such projects as “Bioclusters of the Far East” and “Bioclusters of Central Russia”. It is assumed that in the course of the project in 2015-2020 in the Far Eastern Federal District $1 billion investment will be encouraged. The Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) is interested in implementing the project of “Global energy far East” developed by “Interbiokon”, which can encourage investment in a total volume of 500 million U.S. dollars.

Aleksey Struchkov noted that the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) regularly hosts international conferences where the issues on renewable energy in isolated systems of the Far East of Russia are actively discussed.

“In addition, we developed a draft of regional law “On renewable energy sources” in order to implement projects in the field of renewable energy in the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). It will be considered at the autumn session of the Legislative Assembly of Yakutia. This document will be the regulatory basis for the implementation of innovative projects in the field of energy in the Republic, "- said the Permanent Representative.
