Armenian Church to be opened in Yakutsk

Solemn opening of the Armenian Church in Yakutsk will take place September 7. The church is built at the expense of the benefactors and the laity of the Armenian diaspora living in the territory of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia). Head of Novo-Nakhichevan and Russian Diocese of the Armenian Apostolic Church, Patriarchal Exarch in Russia, Bishop Ezras (Nersisian) is arriving for the consecration of a new church.

The Church is 27 meters high, materials (stones, glass, wood, the cross) are brought from Armenia. The exterior facade of the church is made entirely of natural stone. Amazing natural stone with a short name "tuff" fully decorates the new church. The temple is built by a team of seven people from Yerevan headed by Honored Builder of Armenia Zhora BADALYAN.

Near the temple there will be a community center with Sunday school, conference room, assembly hall, recording studio and the office of the Union of Armenians of the city. Here, children of different nations will be able to learn the basics of not only the Armenian culture, but also the traditions and customs of all peoples living in the republic. Opening of the center is expected by the end of this year.
