Scientists develop blood-drop diabetes diagnostics

Researchers of Standford University, USA, have designed a microchip for diagnostics of Insulin-dependent diabetes. The chip, which can be used 15 times, costs 20 dollars, only, reports MIR24 News Agency.

The new technology will make the disease diagnostics quick, simple, and cheap. Instead of several tests, which are usually needed, a patient will provide just one drop of blood. Besides, doctors have obtained an opportunity to monitor the effect of new types of treatment on human organism.

The scientists have applied for a patent. According to the World Health Organization data, 347 million people in the world suffer from diabetes.
