Yakutia journalists to have their own square

In 2014, the republic capital will open a Journalists Square to the 55th anniversary of the Union of Journalists of Yakutia, as the Chairman Galina Bochkareva has reported at a meeting of the departments’ chairmen.

In this summer, she turned to the Head of Yakutsk Aisen Nikolaev with a proposal to allocate an area for the future square, who signed the letter with great pleasure. Gubinsky and Oktyabrsky districts have already made proposals to construct the square in the area of Krytyi Market and Gorky Street. Soon, the Union of Journalists will be provided with a list of appropriate areas.

Besides the square opening, in March, 2014 there will be the following events held: the third festival Press of Olonkholand, releases of Journalists of Yakutia encyclopedia and a film, and a creative competition The Profession of Journalist.
