A Yakut takes part in the World Conference of Indigenous Women

The World Conference of Indigenous Women Progress and Challenges for the Future We Want is held on October 28 – 30, 2013 in the city of Lima (Peru).

A Russian delegation is headed by Lubov Passar - Vice President of RAIPON in the FEFD, President of AIPON in Khabarovsk Krai. The forum is also attended by Elida Atlasova - representative of Yakutia AIPON, Polina Butylkina – AIPON coordinator and Rodion Sulyandziga - a member of the Global Committee on Preparation for the UN World Conference on Indigenous Peoples.

The World Conference has gathered world organizations of indigenous peoples. It contributes to strengthening of a dialogue, development of coordinated proposals and drafting of political declarations in view of perspectives of indigenous women on a global scale. The conference also helps to defend positions of indigenous peoples in international processes developing till 2015 and the World Conference on Indigenous Peoples in 2014.
