Georgy Poltavchenko visited Preobrazhensky Cathedral Church in Yakutsk

  Yesterday, the official delegation of St. Petersburg headed by its Governor Georgy Poltavchenko and accompanied by the Republic President Egor Borisov visited Preobrazhensky Cathedral Church within a cultural program.

The honored guests were met the Bishop of Yakutsk and Lensk, Roman. After a visit to the Church, the delegation had a warm welcome in the building of Yakutsk Diocese.
The Bishop stressed that the northern capital and Yakutia had long-standing and strong ties. “We are working with St. Petersburg Theological Seminaries. Many those who had come from there are teaching in the republic”, - he said. Georgy Poltavchenko, in turn, was interested in the situation with sectarians in Yakutia and relationships among religious confessions.
