Russian Mammoth Yuki in Japan

The Museum of Yokohama will display remains of the mammoth Yuki.

This name was given to the animal by the Russian archaeologists who had discovered it 3 years ago in Yakutia on the shores of the Laptev Sea. Experts estimated that the mammoth was ten years old when it was killed by a predator.

The Japanese scientists were especially interested in the mammoth because they are working on cloning of prehistoric animals. Over the next two months remains of Yuki will be displayed for everyone.
