Extending of NEFU and University of Northern British Columbia collaboration

On July 1 the President of the University of Northern British Columbia George Iwama met with the Rector of the North-Eastern Federal University Evgenia Mikhailova. The parties are intending to extend the Cooperation Agreement.

George Iwama noted that Yakutia and the Northern British Columbia have identical medicine problems: We, as Yakutia, have the acute problem of attracting young doctors to the North. He expressed his hope of further scientific exchange between the two universities in the future.


The University of Northern British Columbia is one of the best small universities in Canada. It was founded in 1990. The University recognizes the importance of training quality, an individual approach, and innovative researches relevant for the North.
