Foster homes for alone old people to appear in Yakutia

According to a document prepared by the Ministry of Labour and Social Development, foster families will be created on the basis of a tripartite agreement between the Department of Social Protection under the Ministry of Labour of the Republic, a senior citizen and a citizen providing care for the senior citizen.

At the same time, one family can take only one or two senior citizens.

According to the Minister of Labour and Social Development of the Republic Nikolay Degtyaryov, Yakutia plans to create 34 foster homes for the elderly and disabled in 2013. Today, over 130 families from different parts of the Republic are ready to take in new members of their families; and over 600 senior citizens are waiting for acceptance in nursing homes in turn.

Let’s note that a similar mechanism is at work since 2009 in Russia.
