Museum of History of the Statehood of Yakutia marked 50 years

On June 15 Stolby village of Namsky ulus held a solemn meeting of public representatives in honor of the 50th anniversary of the Museum of History of the Statehood of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) named after M.K. Ammosov.

The history of the museum is connected with the name of Hatyryk village’s librarian Maria Okhlopkova, a niece of Maksim Ammosov.

On April 27, 2002, the Decree of the President Vyacheslav Shtyrov, the museum was given the high status of the Republican Museum of History of the Statehood of the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) named after M.K. Ammosov.

Number of visitors of the museum, despite the farness from major cities, reaches 4,000 people a year.
