Yakutia at the International Book Festival in Moscow

The State National Depository of Film Documents about the Sakha Republic of the Ministry of Culture and Spiritual Development of Yakutia has been invited by the State Central Museum of Cinema at the International Moscow Open Book Festival on June 7-9, 2013.

According to the head of the press service of the Permanent Mission of Yakutia under the Russian president, Alexander Struchkov, the festival is held for the eighth time in the support of the embassies and cultural centers; the event is expected to be attended by over 50 foreign guests from almost all countries of the world.

The State Film Depository of Yakutia will present the book of the Honored Worker of Culture of the RSFSR and the YASSR, the Chevalier of the Order “Badge of Honor”, the Excellent of Cinematography of the USSR, the honored filmmaker of the Russian Federation, the film veteran of Yakutia, Ivan Zharaev, “Notes from the history of cinematography of Yakutia” (Yakutsk, 2011). The book is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the first film exhibition in Yakutia. It sets out a brief history of the development of cinema in the Republic. Participants and guests of the festival will see topical, documental, feature films and cartoons about Yakutia from the fund of the State Film Depository of Yakutia.
