President of Yakutia promised support to folk economy and crafts

On October 11 at Egor Borisov’s meeting with members of the Government and artistic craftsmen the decision was taken to develop a target-oriented program for upgrading the level of applied arts, to create a system of state and municipal order and to provide grant support to craftsmen.

In President’s opinion, state support is needed to preserve national traditions in decorative and applied arts, as well as to promote self-employment of the population, including among the young. The head of the Republic also noted that distinctive works of folk craftsmen spark great interest at foreign exhibitions.
