Yakutia will spend 3.78 billion rubles to study its human and economic potential

 Today it was announced that the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia) and the Russian Academy of Sciences agreed to hold large-scale study of "human and economic potential" of the Republic. It is planned to spend more than 3.78 billion rubles within 2015-2020.

Early as next year the plans and methods of research will be prepared, and the first expedition will begin in 2016. The press service of the Government of the Republic stressed that research funding will be performed at the expense of large enterprises resources.

On Monday, officials and scholars discussed the main directions of future work and agreed on further steps. According to the Head of Yakutia Egor Borisov, there should be a single center to prepare the expedition, which could act as a customer for all Russian scientific institutions. The research program should take into account not only territorial but also the sectoral potential of the regions of the Republic. On November 14 a report on the draft program of the expedition will be presented to the President of the Russian Federation, who had previously approved the idea of ​​the upcoming large-scale research in the region.
