Airline company in Yakutia acquires a modern Swiss plane

Polar Airlines has acquired a Swiss plane Pilatus PC-6/B2-H4 Turbo Porter worth 75 million rubles. The aircraft has increased the fleet within the state program "Socio-economic development of the Arctic zone of the Russian Federation for the period till 2020" and improved the transport accessibility of the republic’s Arctic areas.

The aircraft will be used in Srednekolymsk region. Its small capacity will increase the number of flights, and lower operating costs are expected to decrease airfares without a negative impact on the economic performance of the company.

During September, the aircraft will undergo the necessary certification and testing. Experts hope that Pilatus will replace outdated An-2 and An-3, informs the website of the state authorities of Yakutia.
